HELLO AND WELCOME! I’M LAURA (aka Lulu)
You will find my blog to be more than just a travel blog. I’m always on the hunt for something off the beaten path, an intriguing story or a gorgeous location to share. Thank you for joining me here!
LIFE AS AN EXPAT
When I was little, I dreamed of becoming a photojournalist for National Geographic. My husband and I lived abroad off and on since high school. We met in college, married, and moved to England with our kids for four years. I documented our time on the blog Happy Homemaker UK. We then relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area. I merged the HHUK blog with a new blog, Travel With Lulu. Currently, I am writing a book and travel internationally regularly.
LITTLE COLLECTION OF MEMORABLE TRAVELS
Learned the hard way: You don’t have to pee on a jellyfish sting – vinegar does the trick (Thailand)
Most adventurous meal: Lamb brain (Morocco)
‘Not to be repeated’ experience: Pulling leeches off myself (Malaysia)
Scariest adventure: Running down an erupting volcano (Chile)
Coldest vacation: Winter Solstice in Finland
Best way to stop hiccups: Coincidently get on an elevator with a famous comedian (Rome)
Lifelong goal: Volunteer in a refugee camp (Greece)
